As one of our youngest team members, William continues to bring boundless enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to our organization. His creative approach to making soccer more engaging and enjoyable for everyone involved has become a hallmark of the DKCU experience.

What are "Soccer Shenanigans," you ask?

Soccer shenanigans encompass all the fun, unexpected, and memorable moments that make our club special. From organizing surprise skills challenges during practice sessions to creating entertaining halftime activities, William ensures that the joy of the game extends beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch.

"I'm excited to bring even more creative energy to DKCU this year," William shares.

"Soccer should be about skill development, but also about creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of community. That's what soccer shenanigans are all about!"

A Perfect Fit for DKCU

When he's not planning the next great soccer event, William can be found mastering video games or cheering on his beloved NIU Huskies. His bedroom wall proudly displays NIU Huskies posters, showcasing his school spirit and dedication.

What makes William particularly special is his youthful perspective. As he puts it, he's "still a kid!" - which is absolutely true! This genuine youthful outlook helps him connect with our other young players while bringing fresh, imaginative ideas to our programs.

Looking Ahead to Season Two

When asked what he's most looking forward to this season, William enthusiastically responded, "Seeing DKCU teams play great soccer!" His passion for the game continues to shine through in everything he does.

In a heartwarming reflection, William shared that when he reaches the age of 80, what will matter most to him is "Staying Alive" – a simple yet profound reminder to all of us about embracing each day on and off the field.

Join us in welcoming William Matthiesen back for his second year with the DKCU family! With his leadership in soccer shenanigans, we're certain this season will be filled with even more memorable moments, improved skills, and plenty of laughter.
