The club is excited to announce the appointment of PJ Hamilton as men’s head coach. He is the 3rd Coach to serve in that capacity.
Hamilton was named DKCU's first men's reserve coach in 2019 and served until 2021. He joined the first-team squad under coach Romanello in 2022 and was appointed interim head coach in 2023 just before the start of the season.
Sycamore resident, and coach of Dekalb High School Boys, Coach PJ told us: "I would like to thank John, Coach Luzzi, Ram, Jenny and all involved in the opportunity to lead the men's first team. Last summer we had an outstanding group of young men that took the club to new heights and set the expectation for future teams. I look forward to another year working with Coach Nino and the amazing staff at DeKalb County United. Our goal is to continue to grow the game of soccer in our community and take another positive step forward as a club."
DKCU President John Hall said: "PJ Hamilton has shown tremendous contribution to the club in various roles over recent years. Technical Director Eric Luzzi said: ""We are really happy that PJ has agreed to be the permanent head coach for our first team at DKCU. He did a remarkable job in this role as our interim head coach last year, leading us to our best-ever league position and some truly signature wins. PJ has a great understanding of the role of a head coach at the high amateur level, and he will continue to do a great job leading our first team and give all of our players a first-class experience playing for DKCU."
Nino Beharovic will also return as an assistant coach. Additional technical staff will be announced in the future. PJ and Nino also coach at DKCU Academy.
