Genoa’s Own Jorge Leon Ready to Lead the Line for DKCU

The frontline is officially locked and loaded for the summer. DeKalb County United is thrilled to welcome Genoa native Jorge Leon to the club for the upcoming season, bringing division one pedigree and a serious eye for goal right into the heart of our attack.

DeKalb County United welcomes Genoa native and Chicago State striker Jorge Leon to the squad for a summer packed with goals at NIU Stadium.

Jorge comes to the Annies fresh off a standout collegiate run at Chicago State University. For local soccer fans, seeing a homegrown talent transition to the D1 stage and back to DeKalb County is exactly what this club is built on. He chose to sign with DKCU because it keeps him close to home, allowing friends, family, and the community that raised him to watch him compete at the highest level.

Off the pitch, Jorge is driven by deep roots and a quiet discipline. If you followed him around for a regular day, you might be surprised by how much he values his rest, but that downtime fuels a relentless work ethic. When he isn't scoring goals, he is pushing himself on runs, hitting the gym, or hitting the links to improve his golf game. "Committing to play division one soccer is a moment in my journey I will never forget," Jorge reflects. "My parents have had the biggest influence on me as a player and a person because they always push me to be better."
