The heart of the Annies' defense is getting a major boost of local pride for the 2026 season. DeKalb County United is thrilled to officially announce that DeKalb native and Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) standout Nathan Diedrich has signed with the club.

Known to his teammates as "Nate," Diedrich is a powerful presence at center back who understands exactly what it means to represent the 815. His decision to join DKCU was rooted in the club's culture, citing the "family environment" as a primary reason for bringing his talents to the NIU Soccer Stadium this summer.
Nate is no stranger to high-stakes success on DeKalb soil. One of the most defining moments of his soccer journey was winning Sectionals with his high school team during his senior year—a memory that solidified his reputation as a leader in the local soccer scene. He brings that same championship-winning mentality back to the community where it all started.
"Fans can expect high energy and hard work from me this summer."
Off the pitch, Nate keeps things grounded. His ideal summer evening involves a bonfire with friends, and he credits his family’s unwavering support as the biggest influence on his growth as both a player and a person.
Fueled by a steady diet of chicken sandwiches and a relentless work ethic, Nate is ready to anchor the backline and give United fans plenty to cheer about. When he steps onto the pitch this summer, expect nothing less than absolute commitment to the badge.
Welcome home, Nate!
