The Annies’ defense has a new vocal leader between the posts for the 2026 season. DeKalb County United is proud to announce the signing of McHenry native and North Park University goalkeeper Makenna Harvey.

Makenna, known to her teammates as "Mak," comes to DeKalb with a clear mission: to sharpen her skills against the best talent in the Midwest. "I chose DKCU because of the opportunity to play with high-level players and compete in a competitive environment," Makenna shared.
As a standout for the North Park Vikings, Makenna has developed a reputation for her shot-stopping ability and her "supportive and exciting energy" on the field—a trait she considers her trademark. She credits her parents as her biggest influences, citing their constant encouragement to be the best version of herself as the foundation of her competitive drive.
"Fans can expect supportive and exciting energy from me every time I step onto the pitch."
When she isn't donning the gloves, Mak is almost certainly plugged into her headphones. If someone followed her for a day, she says they’d be surprised by just how much of her time is spent listening to music. On those rare summer evenings without a match, you’ll find her at a backyard cookout, grilling burgers and challenging friends to a game of spikeball or pickleball (where she’s currently working on perfecting her serve).
Whether she's fueling up with a #7 from Jersey Mike’s or organizing the backline at the NIU Soccer Stadium, Mak is ready to bring her A-game to DeKalb.
Welcome to the United family, Makenna!
