The Annies’ frontline is getting a serious injection of pace and clinical finishing for the 2026 season. DeKalb County United is proud to announce the signing of Somonauk native and Loras College striker Lance Grandgeorge.

Lance comes to the NIU Soccer Stadium with a reputation for finding the back of the net. A former Chicago Tribune standout, Lance famously made the transition from midfield to forward during his high school years—a move that revealed an "extra gear" that defenders simply couldn't handle. Now, he’s bringing that goal-scoring instinct to his local club.
"I wanted to support the local club and represent this community," Lance said. That local pride, combined with his experience at the collegiate level with the Loras Duhawks, makes him a dangerous addition to the United attack.
A player who thrives on high-stakes moments, Lance cites reaching the President’s Cup National Finals as a defining memory in his journey. He credits his parents for shaping his drive, providing the guidance and support that allowed him to develop into the hardworking striker he is today.
"Fans can expect a hardworking striker who loves to score goals and leaves it all on the pitch."
If you followed Lance for a day, you’d have to keep up—he’s constantly active. When he isn’t terrorizing backlines, he’s likely out on the water enjoying a boat day or at the driving range working on his golf game. And if you’re taking him to dinner, make it a steak—he could eat it every single day.
We’ve added his go-to track, "Right Above It" by Lil Wayne ft. Drake, to the 2026 Pre-Game Playlist to set the tone for the summer.
Welcome to the United family, Lance!
