High-Octane Energy on the Wing: Lachlan Ladd DKCU Signing for 2026

The Annies are adding some serious pace and a "never-say-die" attitude to the flanks for the 2026 season. DeKalb County United is proud to announce the signing of Naperville native and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) standout Lachlan Ladd.
Known as "Lach" to his teammates, the dynamic winger chose DeKalb because of the immediate connection he felt with the staff and the roster. "I chose DKCU because I really like the coaches; they were very welcoming and easy to talk to," Lachlan shared. "I also like a lot of the players on the team and feel like this season will be really fun. This team is a perfect fit for me."
Lachlan brings a history of clutch performances to the NIU Soccer Stadium. One moment he’ll never forget? Winning Midwest Regionals while playing up an age group. After trailing 3-0 at halftime against a squad of Division I-bound forwards, Lachlan played the full match at left back and provided the game-winning assist in overtime to complete a legendary comeback. That versatility and grit are exactly what United fans can expect this summer.

Off the pitch, Lachlan is rarely sitting still. A perfect summer evening for him involves mountain biking, basketball, or a highly competitive game of pickleball with friends and family. Much of that active, driven lifestyle comes from the influence of his father, whom he credits for helping him grow both as a player and a person.
Whether he’s burning past defenders on the wing or refueled by his go-to post-match cheeseburger, Lachlan is ready to leave it all on the field for the DeKalb community.
