They say you can’t keep a good midfielder down—and Katie Bennett is living proof. The Liverpool-born baller is back in green and yellow for the 2025 DKCU season, and we’re buzzing harder than a soda-drunk corn cob at kickoff.

After missing last season, Katie’s return to DKCU is a massive midfield boost and a big win for the locker room vibes. A proud NIU Huskie and veteran of the Liverpool, Wigan, and Preston North End youth setups, KB brings a blend of grit, vision, and northern sass that our midfield has been aching for.
“It’s my second season,” she says. “I’m returning to DKCU after missing last year because of the team culture and to represent my ‘local’ team.”
You heard it here first: she’s got unfinished business, and she’s doing it Scouse-style.
Katie isn’t just bringing football pedigree. She’s also got ambition tattooed on her soul, a soft spot for home-cooked meals, and a deep belief that small gatherings > big parties. (Relatable. Unless the party’s at the NIU Soccer Complex, of course.)
She’s living her bucket list by playing soccer in the States, and we’re just lucky she chose to do it in corn country. When KB hits 80, she says what’ll matter most is her family, friends, and—of course—how the Reds are doing. Respect.
Welcome back, KB. You’re one of us now. Let’s go win something.
