Joey Rodino returns to DeKalb County United for his third season. The Illinois Wesleyan standout brings veteran experience and goal-scoring flair to the 2026 Annies.

Joey’s decision to come back to the NIU Soccer Stadium was simple: he knows the culture, he knows the fans, and he knows what it takes to win in green and yellow. Having already put in two dedicated seasons with the club, Joey’s veteran presence in the midfield and at wingback will be a massive asset for the squad this summer.

Off the pitch, Joey is as focused on his professional development as he is on his fitness. If you followed him for a day, you’d likely find him diving deep into the world of business; he’s currently spending his time learning the ropes of the industry to prepare for life beyond the touchline.

"I'm returning because I've played two seasons previously with DKCU and love the environment here."

Joey is no stranger to the big stage, citing his high school state final appearance as a pivotal moment in his soccer journey. That experience has translated into a clinical edge on the field. While he’s a versatile player who can cover the flanks or boss the middle, his mission for 2026 is clear—he’s here to provide goals.

When the boots are off, Joey keeps it simple. Whether he’s studying business or catching a summer sunset, he’s fueled by his goal-scoring mentality and a high-energy soundtrack.

Welcome back to the family, Joey!
