The Annies are adding a familiar face from the home turf to the 2026 roster. DeKalb County United is thrilled to announce the signing of Northern Illinois University (NIU) attacking midfielder Isabel Struble..

Known as "Izzy" to her teammates, Struble is already a recognized force at the NIU Soccer Stadium. A standout for the Huskies, she has consistently made waves in the local sports scene, even splitting Huskie of the Week honors for her performances on the pitch. Now, she’s ready to bring that Division I experience to the United midfield.
For Isabel, the move to DKCU was inspired by the club’s reputation. "I've heard DKCU has a great soccer community and a competitive environment," she shared. That "forward-thinking" mentality she mentions isn't just a style, it’s how she approaches her career, too, as she balances her time between elite athletics and networking for her professional future.
The journey to DeKalb started in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where the dream of playing D1 soccer felt a world away. "Being from a small town where it was hard to get access to competitive soccer, playing D1 was always the dream," Izzy noted. "When it finally came true and all my hard work paid off, it was a feeling like no other."
"Fans can expect a gritty, energetic, and forward-thinking playstyle from me this summer!"
Behind that gritty playing style is a deep-rooted motivation. Izzy is one of six siblings, and the family became incredibly tight-knit following the loss of their oldest sister, Ellie, in 2016. Every time Izzy steps onto the pitch, she’s playing to make her family—and Ellie—proud.
When she isn't pulling the strings in the midfield, you’ll find her by the lake with her family, enjoying a BBQ and a campfire. Fueled by a steady supply of potatoes (in any form!) and her signature yogurt bowls, she’s ready to give the DeKalb faithful plenty to cheer about.
Welcome to the United, Izzy!
