Call your grandma. Tell your neighbors. DeKalb’s own Henry Garcia is officially suiting up for the boys in green and yellow.

We’re buzzing to announce Henry as a DKCU 2025 player signing – and not just because his tackling is as clean as his nutrition plan.

This center defensive midfielder is fresh out of DeKalb High School and committed to Kishwaukee College, but he’s not waiting for college ball to show what he’s made of. He’s bringing lockdown midfield energy to the NIU Soccer Complex this summer, and we are HERE for it.

Henry's got elite instincts, serious drive, and just the right amount of that local-kid-done-good magic. He’s been repping DeKalb his whole life—now, he’s doing it on the field for the club that lives and breathes the same community pride.

He supports Barcelona and PSG, but honestly, we think he’s about to make DKCU his favorite team. Especially once he sees how loud our fans get when a local makes a crunching tackle.

Off the Pitch:

Why DKCU?

“Because I love the atmosphere, the competition, and the staff.”(We didn’t pay him to say that, we promise.)

Henry’s the kind of guy who says “ambition” over comfort, drinks Pepsi, and chooses small gatherings over big parties (fewer people, more corn dip). He eats clean, dreams big, and when he’s 80, he hopes to look back on a life packed with memories, joy, and soccer-filled adventure.

Bucket List Check-In:

  • Wanted to hike as a kid—let’s get him some boots and a trail map.

  • Next up? Keep playing the sport he loves and travel the world while doing it.

This summer, Henry’s bringing DeKalb fire to a midfield near you. We’ll bring the fans. You bring the popcorn. Or corn. Or whatever you want really, as long as it ends in –DKCU win.
