DKCU NAMES DAN CARL AS WOMEN’S U23 HEAD COACH FOR 2020 SEASON

In 2018 DeKalb County United announced plans to create a women’s u23 team for the summer of 2020.

Club President John Hall made a statement about the decision to start a women’s u23 side and to bring in Dan Carl as the team’s Head Coach.

“We decided a few years ago that adding some developmental teams was important to our club’s growth. Not only are we adding players, coaches and supporters to our family, but we are able to provide post-high school age players with developmental opportunities they never previously have had access to in DeKalb County. Our u23 programs for both men and women provide college players with summer competition and coaching so that they can be prepared for their fall seasons. We’re excited to bring the women’s team to life next summer. The club recognized that bringing in the right person to lead this team was important. Dan Carl reached out to us soon after we announced our intent to begin a women’s team and he was interested in coaching. Dan brings a long history of developing players in DeKalb County through his work with Northern Illinois Football Club (NIFC) which is also one of our youth partners. Dan lives here and has a strong passion for local soccer players and families. We’re thrilled to have him leading this new team in 2020.”

Coach Carl had this to say,

“I’m very excited and want to thank John Hall and Morgan Garcia for this opportunity to join the DKCU staff as U23 Women’s Head Coach. I’m eager to begin the process of identifying players interested to continue their development through this great community club. Having been rooted in DeKalb County and working to develop hundreds of players over 15 plus years, I feel that we have a strong base of local players of which to draw from to build a team that will compete well in the ISSA U23 Women’s League.”

Dan lives in Sycamore with wife Tracy and have four children (Cali, Meghan, Caden and Jameson.)

DeKalb County United is a volunteer managed, non profit club. All operational expenses are covered through sponsorships, ticket sales, merchandise, and soccer events such as camps and tournaments. For more information please email contact@dkcunited.com
