The Annies’ midfield and wing options just got a major boost with the signing of Cecilia Papoccia for the 2026 campaign.

Belvidere native and University of Dubuque standout Cecilia Papoccia joins DeKalb County United for the 2026 season.

A versatile threat from Belvidere and a key player at the University of Dubuque, "Cece" is ready to bring her work ethic and technical ability to the NIU Soccer Stadium.

Cece chose DKCU to push her game to the next level under new coaching and to reunite with former teammates. For her, soccer isn't just a season—it’s a lifestyle. If you followed her for a day, you’d see her doing it all: playing, coaching, and watching the game.

"My parents have had the biggest influence on me," Cece shared. "They are always pushing me to be my best and not letting me get comfortable. They always want me to work hard and get even better."

That drive for growth extends beyond the pitch, as Cece is currently working on branching out of her comfort zone and connecting with new people—making her a perfect fit for our community-focused locker room. While she’s traveled as far as Alaska to compete in the past, she’s looking forward to a summer of high-intensity soccer closer to home, fueled by her go-to pre-match meal: pasta.

United fans can expect a strong work effort and total commitment from Cece every time she steps onto the field this summer.
