The Annies' defense is getting a major injection of championship experience for the 2026 season. DeKalb County United is thrilled to announce the signing of Roscoe native and Rock Valley College (RVC) standout Aniah Schaffer.

Aniah, known as "Niah" or "Ni" to her teammates, comes to DeKalb with a proven track record of winning. A cornerstone of the Rock Valley defense, she was instrumental in the team's historic run that saw them win their region to secure a spot at Nationals—a moment she cites as the most unforgettable highlight of her soccer journey so far.
The decision to join United was a natural one for Aniah, as she follows a well-trodden path from RVC to the NIU Soccer Stadium. "My friends and teammates play for DKCU," Aniah shared, highlighting the strong bonds and competitive chemistry that already exist within the squad.
Beyond her defensive prowess, Aniah’s work ethic is relentless. If you followed her for a day, you’d likely be surprised by her schedule—she is "never home," constantly balancing her commitments on and off the pitch. She is currently applying that same discipline to her personal growth, using a set schedule to master the art of time management and beat procrastination.
"Fans can expect fireball energy and a relentless work rate from me this summer!"
Aniah credits her grandmother as her biggest influence, a source of strength that drives her to give 100% every time she steps across the white line. When she isn't shutting down opposing strikers, you can find her hitting the gym or enjoying a perfect summer evening hanging out with friends.
Fueled by her favorite seafood dishes and a drive to compete at the highest level, Aniah is ready to anchor the Annies' defense.
Welcome to the United, Aniah!
