Corn-fed. Battle-tested. Back again.

We’re thrilled to announce that Abby Zipse – midfield engine, NIU standout, and resident Dr. Pepper enthusiast – is returning to DKCU for the 2025 season! A proud Batavia, IL native, Abby’s been running the middle of the park for four straight summers with The Annies, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

This isn’t just another DKCU 2025 player signing – this is a reunion tour.

Her resume speaks for itself. College baller at NIU. Game-winner against Ball State on a record-breaking day. Here’s the proof. And in case you were wondering if she's in it for the vibes, the soccer, or the corn...

“I just love corn! Jk. I’ve played with them for the last four summers and have had a blast. Great coaching, teammates, and soccer.”

Abby brings experience, skill, and the unflappable cool of someone who still remembers the B+ that ruined her perfect GPA. Now that’s elite mental toughness.

Off the Pitch:

  • Team supported? She’s too busy balling out to pick sides.

  • Childhood dream? Still TBD… probably still thinking about that B+.

  • What really matters at 80? Honestly? We’ll let her answer that in 57 years.

  • Bucket list? Travel to Europe (she deserves a gelato in Rome at minimum).

  • Ambition or comfort? Comfort, baby.

  • Fast food or health food? Fast food... but trying.

  • Big party or small gathering? Small gathering, always.

  • Coke or Pepsi? Neither. Dr. Pepper or bust.

We’re lucky to have her. The midfield’s in good hands (well, feet) with Zipse back in the lineup. Let’s make 2025 her best season yet.
