ZoZo's Back: Gannon Returns to DKCU Defense

Virgil's own Zoe "ZoZo" Gannon is coming back to DeKalb County United, and we couldn't be happier to have her fierce energy and defensive grit anchoring our backline once again.
A Waubonsee Community College standout who earned All-Area honors last spring, Gannon doesn't let her size define her game. She plays bigger than her frame, competes harder than most, and brings a fire to practice that makes everyone around her better. That intensity is exactly why she's returning: the coaching, the competition, and the friendships she's built with teammates from across the region keep her coming back.
Off the pitch, Zoe is all about balance. A perfect summer evening means ice cream, late nights with friends and family, and maybe some time by the pool. Her sister remains her biggest influence, always pushing her to improve and reminding her why she fell in love with the game in the first place. This summer, she's working on time management, confidence, and making sure she stands up for herself, all while bringing that same competitive edge she's carried since day one.
Fans can expect Gannon to play with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of swagger. She's ready to finish strong, compete fiercely, and prove once again that DKCU is where she belongs. Welcome back, ZoZo.
