With over 25 years of leadership, coaching, and mentorship, Dan Carl has earned his place in the DeKalb County Soccer Hall of Fame not just through wins and titles, but by building a lasting foundation for the sport in our region.

Coach Carl was instrumental in launching and growing programs through NIFC (Northern Illinois Futbol Club) and DCSC (DeKalb County Soccer Club). His commitment extended far beyond the training pitch, organizing and leading over a decade of soccer camps that introduced the game to hundreds of local kids.

In more recent years, Coach Carl helped build DeKalb County United into a beacon of community soccer, coaching DKCU adult teams to two state titles and helping shape the club’s community-first culture. In 2022 Dan helped launch the DKCU Academy to promote the club's vision and values with our local youth players as well.

But it’s not just trophies that define his legacy.

Coach Carl is widely praised for his ability to create a positive, encouraging environment that empowers young athletes, helping them grow not just as soccer players, but as individuals. His players and their families speak often of his kindness, steady guidance, and the belief he instills in every child who steps on the field.

With a focus on accountability, compassion, and a relentless work ethic, Dan Carl has mentored thousands, serving not just as a coach , but as a life-long advocate and ambassador for the game.

Congratulations, Coach Carl , and thank you for your lasting contributions to soccer in DeKalb County.

Dan will be formally recognized at our home game on July 19 — we’d love to see you there.
