The closed-season allows players to rest and consider their futures. Maybe DKCU isn't for them. Maybe life gives them new challenges. And maybe they see an opportunity to push themselves to a higher level through tryouts. Indeed, we ourselves are in the midst of our own tryouts, and doubtless coach Gecan has unearthed one or two new faces with their own unique stories.
Which brings us to two of DKCUs most loved and popular players. Jose "Paco" Gutierrez and Alberto "Beto" Martinez. As you read this, these two outstanding young men are preparing to fly out LA and tryout for LA Galaxy II, who play in the USL. This is a huge opportunity,and we obviously wish them both the best of luck.
No player ever succeeds without the support of friends and family, so we should also mention the two fantastic women who have supported these boys as they pursue their dreams. So consider this post as a tribute to not only Paco and Beto, but also Bai and Ash.
